The Salt Flat and A Paper, Black

Tue Jul 28, 2009, 3:27 AM
IT'S SEVEN IN THE MORNING, DICKBAGS
TIME TO WAKE THE HELL UP

Or stay up like I did.
And don't ask me whether "dickbags" is a legitimate word or insult. It is. It seems vulgar enough at least and that's good enough.

So my Birthday's coming up and I'm thinking, DSi? Well why not. See the deal is I think after all's said and done (that is, after I get however much money from whoever decides they want to give me some), I can go sell off some old vidja-type dealies and cover the rest of the 170 or whatever it's sold at.

Regardless of whether you wanted to know, now you do.

Oh and I made a more solid walkcycle for the little Explorerman man done. I'll post it as soon as I can have Robert make it transparent because apparently that feature on my animator doesn't actually /work/, regardless of whether or not the feature's actually there. Protip: it is. Maybe I'll get it on sooner and just have a bright pink background to see.

Heh. "Get it on."

I mean.
I'm also getting my driver's license at some point in the week which is pretty appropriate, a sort of "coming-of-age" thing in western countries, innit. The more industrialized eastern countries tend to rely on public transportation more than us so I sort of wonder if there's some sort of equivalent, something you "get" at this age. I mean, the knowledge that can only be known by age, the experience, I realize there's that. Maybe we're just way more materialistic than they are, maybe there really is no equivalent.

But then the other side of my mind goes, "does that mean they don't have a sense of wonder or movement, either? The whole salarymen thing kind of makes me question whether their culture is very adventurous at all."

"Now hold on there, we have a sort of 'feeling of entitlement' here in the US, too, don't we?"

"It's the same all over, really."

"Yes and no."

I hope that amused you but if it didn't I'm just a little wound-up right now and I hope you can excuse that prose explosion. Carry on.
